About the tour
Explore one of the most layered and historically significant areas of Budapest — the Jewish Quarter, a neighbourhood shaped by generations of community life, cultural richness, and profound historical events.
From the early 19th century, this district became home to a thriving Jewish community, leaving behind a remarkable architectural and cultural legacy. As you walk through its streets, you’ll discover synagogues, courtyards, and everyday spaces that reflect this vibrant past.
At the same time, the area bears witness to the tragic events of 1944–1945, when it was designated as the Budapest ghetto. During the tour, you’ll visit important memorials and gain a deeper understanding of this difficult chapter in history, approached with sensitivity and respect.
Today, the district is also one of the city’s most dynamic neighbourhoods, where history and contemporary life exist side by side.
This experience can be tailored to your interests, whether you wish to focus more on history, culture, or the present-day atmosphere of the area.
