About the tour
The full-day Danube Bend tour is a great option for visitors who are interested in exploring Hungary outside Budapest. It is a nice mix of history, culture, architecture and the most stunning views. You will have the chance to visit three towns: Esztergom, Visegrád and Szentendre.
Esztergom is the centre of the Catholic Church in Hungary, with the largest Basilica in the country. It was the home of St. Stephen, the first Christian king of Hungary, founder of the Hungarian state.
Visegrád was a royal residence from the 13th century and witnessed hundreds of years of our nation’s history. The town is situated in the middle of the most amazing bend of the Danube river and there are two residences to visit, one near the river and the other one on top of the hill overlooking the Danube Bend.
The picturesque town of Szentendre has a very unique Mediterranean charm that inspired many generations of artists who have been living and working in Szentendre for centuries. There are beautiful churches and exciting museums to explore and you will also have the option to try some local specialties or shop for local handicraft products.
This tour is a combination of driving and walking.
